BlockSight is beyond excited to join the @CantonNetwork Accelerator. Our AI-powered fraud detection, customer retention, and liquidity management platform is designed to help anyone looking to build with blockchain technology. We are excited to support both retail and institutional partners, and there is strong alignment between our mission and Canton's vision. In terms of partnerships, we couldn't be more excited to work with the right venture capital firm. @EricSwartzKSU and his team at @PantherHollowV are strategic, optimistic, and professional partners. We're excited to have them on board for the long term.

Rebuilding old software is humbling. Half the time I'm impressed by my younger self. The other half I'm wondering what he was thinking.

One thing 15 years taught me: Users don't care how clever your architecture is. They care whether they can find what they're looking for. Fast. Everything else is secondary.

A useful engineering rule: If adding a feature makes the core product worse, it's probably the wrong place for that feature. That's how we ended up with plugins. The search engine stays lean. Additional capabilities stay separate. Everybody wins.

Most people think file search is solved. Until they need to find: - One line in 100,000 files - A forgotten project - An old invoice - A configuration setting Search is one of those problems that feels trivial... Right up until it matters.

Open source is about trust. Your files stay on your machine. No accounts. No telemetry. No subscriptions. Just software.

your codebase search is embarrassingly slow 💀 ripgrep (rg) finds any pattern across every file in ~0.3s faster than grep. smarter than your IDE. 7 steps to set it up 👇

Well.. it's back!
Replying to @yaypie
Slightly reminiscent of searchMonkey

The older I get, the more I appreciate boring technology. SearchMonkey III is built on ripgrep. Reliable beats clever almost every time.

A surprising amount of software engineering is learning what NOT to build. You don't need: • A database • An indexer • A background service • A cloud account to search your own files. Sometimes the simplest solution is also the fastest.

There are no ocr limits for Searchmonkey and it runs on Mac
Struggled for 15 mins to find a reason why OCR with search words in MacOS Finder wasn't working, and realized it just doesn't if the folder has like over 100 files, and the folder had over 1000 and just doesn't index them for some reason. God MacOS is getting worse by the year

Searchmonkey is powered by ripgrep and gives you that same power in the UI. And it's open source.
One tool I genuinely think every developer, engineer, sysadmin, researcher, and terminal-heavy techie should know about: ripgrep (rg) ⚡ It’s basically a ridiculously fast modern replacement for grep, but once you start using it properly, it becomes hard to go back. Super useful for: • searching huge codebases • finding configs/secrets • log analysis • debugging • searching APIs/endpoints • navigating projects • parsing large datasets • quick terminal workflows Examples: rg "TODO" rg "api_key|token" rg "localhost:3000" rg "useEffect" One of the best parts: it automatically respects .gitignore, skips unnecessary junk directories, and searches insanely fast even across massive repositories. Also powers a lot of modern tooling ecosystems behind the scenes: • Neovim • Telescope • VS Code integrations • fzf workflows • CLI tooling • developer search systems This is honestly one of those tools that quietly upgrades your daily workflow without you realizing it at first.
