Would really encourage everyone to watch Samoa coach Ramsey Tomokino's answer to this question from @nickheathsport.
Forget the score. It was moving to see how much today meant to everyone connected with this Samoa side.

Very few have done more for rugby over the last fifteen years than the team at Scrumqueens. A legacy that moved the sport forwards decades in the space of just one.
All good things come to an end.
Our 16 year journey in women’s rugby has come to an end. We have loved it all and are so grateful for your interest and engagement - but it feels like time.

End of an era. A massive inspiration for launching @The_Cutback was the work Ali had done with Scrumqueens. The website closes with women's rugby in a completely different media landscape. A huge legacy.

One final piece of housekeeping.
For 16 years we've maintained the only complete list of women's tests and sevens internationals. We will no longer be doing this.

According to an @Federugby press release, the @Womens6Nations U18s Festival will return to Wellington College in Berkshire, 9th-20th April.
This was the same venue as used in 2023.
Upcoming "international" between Singapore and Selangor [a Malaysian state team].
Singapore will not be part of @asiarugby's Division 1 later this year (India, Malaysia, UAE), so a sign of revival of XVs in Singapore.

It's back to three pools of four for the next round of @SVNSSeries next weekend, because the tournament is over three days.
Does changing the format from one tournament to another have an effect?
Do teams approach tournaments differently if the format is changed?

Presenting the historic first-ever rugby kit for the 🇹🇿 Tanzania Women's 15s rugby team
Presumably this also applied to the women's Division 1, @asiarugby?
Every other year would be a small step forward.
Asia Rugby Council approved the decision of staging Division 2 and Division 3 every second year due to present and previous generated data illustrating:
1- Teams withdrawals
2- Traveling increases costs
3- COVID-19 implications throughout years 2020, 2021 and 2022.
4- Teams prefer to play sub-regionally in gab year before deciding whether or not to join the official continental competitions
and most importantly and as explained during the live session that once @asiarugby conducted a competitions survey amongst all 36 member federations, the feedback was crystal clear; all federations want to play 7s and around 13 federations want to play 7s and 15s.
In regard to the Asia Rugby Emirates Championship- Division 1 women’s, it didn’t happen this year although planned and budget due to teams withdrawals. For 2025, the aim and target is to be played at all costs.
