For a global dataset on crop nutrient concentrations, see Ludemann, C.I., R. Hijbeek, M. Van Loon, T.S. Murrell, A. Dobermann, et al. 2022. Global data on crop nutrient concentration and harvest indices. : 41325939 bytes. doi: 10.5061/DRYAD.N2Z34TN0X.
We also found grain P concentration increased with increasing soil test P and with yield. Wider datasets support removal coefficients of 0.3, 0.35 and 0.4 lb P2O5 per bushel for states in the western, central and eastern parts of the Corn Belt.

Crop removal rate is indeed important, but variable. Research across US Northeast states reported P concentration in corn grain ranging from 2.2 to 5.4 g P per kg (DM basis) - equivalent to 0.24 to 0.58 lb of P2O5 per bushel. acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.c…

I am proud to work in agriculture. Higher yields saved land. Higher yields fed billions. How? Science. → Better seeds. → Better fertilisers. → Better farming techniques. People who say “go back to nature” actually want “go back to hunger”.

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Trump berates Zelensky, the leader of a democratic country courageously fighting Russian imperialism, while he allies himself with Putin, a dictator who started the bloodiest European war in 80 years. Sorry, President Trump. We believe in democracy, not authoritarianism.

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US.

Excellent progress! Losses of reactive forms of nitrogen from Canadian cropland decreased from 20% to 13% of total N inputs from 2001 to 2016--while crop nitrogen removal increased very substantially, even ignoring the drought years 2001 and 2002. sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
