ALT A slide which says "WHAT WE KNOW. Proposed cost-saving measures include: Reopening VS scheme; Recruitment controls; contractural changes; Reviewing/removing new PhD scholarships. Most pressing is the proposed reduction of SLL by 10 jobs".

ALT A slide which says "STAFF UNDER THREAT. 15 staff members are being 'advised' TODAY that their job is at risk. The jobs being cut include: 2 professors; 2 associate professors (removing all from Surrey Morphology); 6 senior lecturers or lecturers (closing the GGA program & removing all Spanish & German)".

ALT A slide which says "IMMEDIATE IMPACT. The GGA program, which all students, not just SLL can make use of, will no longer be available. Current students will lose the expertise & support of their lecturers, personal tutors and supervisors. Modules may be cut which students came to Surrey to learn & remaining staff will be stretched to accomodate".

ALT A slide which says "LOSS OF EXPERTISE. The University is presenting these cuts as the only way forward to protect remaining jobs. But in doing so, an incredible loss of experience, expertise and ingenuity will occur. Staff who have significantly contributed to the cultural hertiage record of the county through Surrey Cultural Lives, and both SSL recipients of the FASS Research Excellence Awards 2023 are currently targets for the cuts. Subsequently, the University is curating an academic culture where no matter your achievement, you are still expendible".

ALT A slide which says "WHAT NEXT? Contact the Vice Chancellor & write in support of your tutors, your supervisors. This is your education, your university which is being impacted! Show up. Spread the word. Ask the awkward questions. Why are sick, disabled, & pregnant staff members being targeted? Staff have until the 7th May to accept 'voluntary severance' and then compulsory redundancies will be announced from the 17th May".

ALT A poster saying "TIME TO MOBILISE! SLL staff have been invited to a dept meeting tomorrow to 'commence a collective consultation process with staff in SLL with a view to securing further savings'. Join us on 24/04/24 at 10am, outside 23AP02 to show the university that further redundancies in SLL are not the way forward. STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH YOUR STAFF!"
