No doubt Local Authorities will try to interpret it as narrowly as they can.
We say that the LA should extend it to all the trees they control - see key point 3:

What is going on in this country
This is what’s happened in City Gardens, Cardiff since 2008. Up to 50 mature trees cut down! Ever heard of the climate crisis and biodiversity emergency @cardiffcouncil? Truly the worst council in Wales.

After ~7 yr of work, it's finally out! We present a molecular phylogeny of butterflies sampling >90% of genera & >2000 spp. Butterflies emerged ~100 million yr ago in North America and first fed on legumes. Thanks to all 87 co-authors from 28 countries! rdcu.be/dcaVU

And hats off to the huge number of hardworking #volunteers, including staff, parents and #SOST #tree guardians.
Official planting day with pupils on June 9th - with a planting scheme that tolerates difficult, drought-prone conditions. But it already looks amazing!
We're also coming back again with @RussellHorsey in the autumn to further green this fabulous school with some trees! Watch this space 🌳
