Why are @GreaterCambs refusing FOIs and acting as a lobby group ?
.@Sam_in_Cam @PhilRodgers @BenHattonJourno
Here’s the latest FOI released by Clare Hall but refused by GCP. Now we know why. GCP asking Clare Hall to write in support of Adams Road. What business does the GCP have asking that?

This is quite staggering appalling. There were two consultations asking for opinions. But GCP, who have a non-voting university member (who votes), ask a uni college to write in support?
When does this become corruption?

The mayor of Cambridgeshire @MayorJPalmer has taken control of the Cambridge to Cambourne busway - taking the power away from @GreaterCambs
He says the current scheme must be 'immediately halted'. He says GCP notified in a letter this afternoon

Hardwick residents send a strong message to @GreaterCambs with their early morning demonstration. @SCLibDems @cllrbridget @AidanVdeW are surpassing themselves with the environmental destruction this will cause. Elections due in May though🤔

Not quite sure whether to laugh or cry at this sentence from the @GreaterCambs Executive Board papers reporting from the recent joint assembly meeting. Just feels like there should be a sitcom in there somewhere...

Table 3.4 in @MottMacDonald report to @GreaterCambs is nonsense - the notion you can simplistically score diverse things like noise, connectivity, biodiversity & heritage then add & divide them to give an overall average score is deeply methodologically flawed... meaningless

Is it me or are the residents of Cambridge & surrounding not being listened to becoming a 'norm' rather than aberration.
Watching a slide presentation from @cppf_pc on the environmental impact of the offhighway busway a Coton friend told me wistfully “and that field is full of hares”.

Some annotations missing in this @GreaterCambs image of Adams Road busway;
* Family forced to cycle on narrow pavement by intimidating buses.
* Cyclist dangerously tailgated by bus.
* Bus driver leaning on horn to get around cyclist.

Here it is in all its glory from the GCP.
“Buses occupy cycle lanes if required to pass“.
Eight words which bring a death sentence to the busiest cycle route in Cambridge. Sign the petition to stop this chng.it/9pbPKp4v

Or as it's more accurately called, absolutely standard Stagecoach driving.
Now I commute around Cambridge most days, it's only a matter of time before I make the Cambridge News for attacking a Stagecoach bus.

Certainly agree current junction is not great.
Adams Road does need cycle lanes also. As a regular user often in conflict with vehicles.
.@CambridgePPF On Anglia News this morning on the dangerous Adams Road/Grange Road junction with @camcycle and @SaveCycleRoute. How can adding 280 buses a day to this junction make any sense?

Travelling to @GreaterCambs meeting in Cambourne by bike and bus. Bike bit was quicker than expected, bus was 25 minutes late. We need to improve this journey by public transport, but not at the expense of cycling safety on Adams Road. @SaveCycleRoute @camcycle

Want to see what over 3000 signatures look like?
This is 138 A4 pages.
Who will the GCP listen to?
3000 petitioners or a Cambridge College and a rugby club?
Join us at the Joint Assembly meeting in Cambourne tomorrow 1.30.

The X5 to Oxford routed down Adams Road and Coton cycle path?? What next - the M11 diverted through Kings Parade anti-terror barrier?
.@alexspencerCAM @camcycle In all the meetings with the GCP I never remember the word X5 being mentioned. But here it is in black-and-white in the Papers. Watch out Adams Road cyclists, the X5s are coming to get you.

You have to ask “What is the real reason @CambAhead @GreaterCambs want to build a tarmac busway through the greenbelt & down through the fields on Madingley Hill.”
This quoted post is unavailable.

.@GreaterCambs hopes in vain that Tories will allow city centre access restrictions and/or pricing. I really don’t understand how planning can advance as normal. It will result in a bus carpark on Grange and West Roads. Worse: planners suggested a bus station on Queens Green.

What happens at Adams Rd? Is all traffic going to be funnelled through Grange Road? If anything Grange Road should be closed to through traffic, not be opened to more!

Great St Mary's church came to the committee last year where Labour Councillors voted for this barrier. They received a note dropped through the church door the night before. Totally unacceptable approach to consultation.
