Sen. Ted Cruz was given an award for his service from the American Friends of Chabad Lubavitch at an event in Washington, DC last week. He spent his speech lamenting rising "anti-Semitism" among young Christians, as well as young people on all sides of the political spectrum. "[We may] wake up in five years and find ourselves in a country where both major parties are unambiguously anti-Israel and unapologetically antisemitic," Cruz warned the group, according to Jewish Insider. Lobbyist Jeff Miller of the Republican Jewish Coalition, whom Trump picked to be chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, was also honored at the event. After being introduced by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Miller too lamented the rise in "anti-Semitism" on social media and called for Jewish groups to form a unified front to fight back. "This is not a partisan fight, nor should it ever become one. We may disagree about politics, but tonight, in this room and in this fight, we must be one," Miller said, as reported by JI. "Whether antisemitism comes from Hasan Piker or Tucker Carlson, we must call it for what it is. Anyone who condemns antisemitism from the other side while excusing it from their own is not fighting hatred. They are exploiting it." Pres. Trump himself also gave a video address to the group. It appears no video of the event has been released.
