Sacha Baron Cohen on Nathan Fielder, who worked on his show 'Who Is America?':
"I think he’s a comic genius and he reinvented the genre that I, I suppose, created or developed. And he had a rule really, which was to not do anything that I had done. But he’s a brilliant, brilliant mind, and absolutely hilarious. I think his documentary’s going to be huge, so I’m very excited for him." bit.ly/4BpPgkz

Nathan Fielder turned a Starbucks parody into a real life social experiment. ☕️🤣
By opening “Dumb Starbucks” in Los Angeles, he argued that adding the word “Dumb” made the business a parody, allowing him to operate under a legal loophole. He even offered free coffee to anyone who mentioned his name.
A ridiculous idea that somehow became one of his most memorable projects.

Someone smashed a Louis Vuitton window in Paris over and over and still couldn't get a single bag out.
That window was built for exactly this. In Europe, glass like this gets tested in a lab where a machine swings a hammer and then an axe at it until it cuts a hole about the size of a large pizza box. The top rating, P8B, means it took more than 70 hits to get through.
Every one of those white craters is a hit that landed. The outer layer of glass basically turned to powder, and that's as far as it got.
The trick is that it's a sandwich. Layers of glass are bonded to layers of tough plastic, sometimes polycarbonate, and pressed into one slab that can be almost 2 inches thick and weigh over 20 pounds per square foot. When you hit it, the glass cracks like you'd expect. The plastic holds every piece in place, so the window looks wrecked and keeps doing its job anyway.
Regular tempered glass works the other way. Hit a bus stop window hard enough and the whole thing drops into a pile of little cubes, and now there's just a hole.
The test itself is kind of insane. The machine needs 16 to 20 hammer swings just to crack the glass around the square. Then it switches to an axe, and they put on a fresh axe head every 10 swings. They stop counting when the square falls out.
So that rating is really a timer. It tells you how long somebody has to stand on the sidewalk swinging before they're in.
That matters a lot in a riot. France had about 550,000 people in the streets on Saturday. Near Place de la République, people smashed into a cosmetics shop and tossed the products to the crowd outside. Someone dumped a phone store's stock into the street. Nobody in a moving crowd is going to stand at one window for 70 swings when the shop down the block opens up in a few.
Professional thieves know all this, which is why they don't bother with the window.
The Louis Vuitton on Boulevard Saint-Germain got robbed three times in eight months between September 2024 and May 2025. All three times, a car rammed straight through the entrance. And in Bordeaux on Saturday, the crowd at Louis Vuitton went after the doors.
Louis Vuitton can armor every window it owns, but every store still needs a front door customers can walk through, and that's the part the pros go after.

Bill Clinton on Mark Carney:
I'm tired of treating our allies like they're dirt.
The prime minister of Canada has been a friend of mine for a long time. We got to know each other having virtually nothing to do with politics.
He's about the most well-qualified leader in the world. He's been head of the banks of both the UK and Canada.
And we have the gall to suggest that they should become the 51st state.

imagine paying for a peaceful flight and discovering that the man beside you is having a full emotional breakdown over a creature on the wing. now imagine looking outside and finding out he's not entirely wrong. snl takes the twilight zone classic and gives it a gloriously ridiculous twist, with jude law playing a passenger whose credibility is falling faster than the plane. bobby moynihan's gremlin is already a problem, but the real genius is how casually the situation keeps getting more absurd. at some point, this stops being a flight and becomes a customer service complaint with wings.

How SNL Turned a FONT Into a Psychological Thriller
Ryan Gosling returned to one of the most ridiculous obsessions in modern comedy: the font used in Avatar.
But the real story behind this sketch is even more interesting. A throwaway joke became a viral classic, and seven years later, the obsession returned.
Here’s how it happened.

Neil Patrick Harris is the only young actor in the cast smart enough to realize this. He goes from the smartass friend in a recognizable late-90s high school sex dramedy to "what if Reinhard Heydrich was psychic?"

“The Simpsons” was a beloved animated sitcom that ran for ten legendary seasons and concluded in 1999. The show was celebrated for what was widely perceived as a near perfect run that wrapped before it wore out its concept and overstayed its welcome.
Creator Matt Groening and showrunner James L. Brooks famously decided to bring the show to a conclusion after experiencing the negative audience reaction to the season 9 episode “The Principal and the Pauper,” in which it was revealed that the school’s principal was actually an impostor who had stolen the real Seymour Skinner’s identity. Brooks did not want to sully the show’s legacy by doing a bunch of weird episodes as the franchise slid into mediocrity and cultural irrelevance, so the writers and cast decided instead to go out on top and end things on a high note.
However, because of its centrality in 90s pop culture, a long-running Internet joke is to pretend “The Simpsons” is still on the air, a premise that gets more absurd and deranged with each passing year. If this show were still producing new episodes, it would be in its 38th season now, and most of the voice cast would be in their 80s.
The joke is to imagine how distorted this charming show would have become if it had been stretched out to more than 800 episodes. Comedy posters on “weird Twitter” used to try to top each other by making up terrible ideas for what modern episodes of the show might be like.
For example, a viral 2012 tweet imagined an episode where Lady Gaga helps Lisa Simpson with her self esteem. In 2019, popular shitposter Megan Amram originated the premise of Bart Simpson becoming a men’s rights activist to protest a gender-swapped reboot of “Itchy and Scratchy.”
But perhaps the most elaborate Internet “Simpsons” joke was a 2017 YouTube mockumentary “The Problem With Apu,” in which the comedian Hari Kondabolu ironically pretended to be offended by the charming and innocuous convenience store owner character Apu.
Everyone thought this was hilarious, especially since the show had been off the air for nearly two decades when the mockumentary was released. So, Twitter ran with the joke by pretending to “cancel” Apu, and the viral gag memorably resulted in the character’s voice actor, Hank Azaria, recognizing the meme by promising never to perform the character again, which everybody thought was really funny since Azaria had been retired for years.
Now, nearly a decade later, fans are pretending that the show — which has now been off the air longer than most people tweeting about it have been alive— has brought back the “cancelled” character with a new racially-appropriate voice actor.
I actually don’t think this is that funny, and I kind of think the gag of pretending “The Simpsons” is still airing new episodes has overstayed its welcome, a mistake the actual show “The Simpsons” would never have made.
If you haven’t seen this 1990s classic, which — and I cannot emphasize this enough — ended after 10 seasons in 1999, you can watch all the episodes on Disney+ (except the one with Michael Jackson that got pulled from streaming).

This STUPID referendum was $125,000,000
That’s:
🚑 415 fully equipped ground ambulances
✈️ 14 specialized medevac aircraft
🚒 52 urban pumper fire trucks
🏥 5 to 8 brand-new rural health care centres
Albertans literally got NOTHING of benefit
What a damn waste.
