Three years ago today, Hamas carried out the horrific October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel, murdering 1,200 innocent people, including eight Canadians, and taking more than 250 hostages.
Today, we honour those whose lives were stolen and keep in our thoughts the families and loved ones who continue to carry the pain of their loss.
At a time of rising antisemitism in Canada, Saskatchewan stands firmly with our Jewish community, rejects hate in all its forms, and reaffirms that every person has the right to practice their faith freely and without fear.

Tom Mulcair on Pierre Poilievre's Joe Rogan appearance: "I thought it was an outstanding piece of political communication, and it was bookended by ... frankly one of the best political speeches I've heard any Canadian political leader give on Canada-US relations in a long time."

Another difficult day as we have lost another friend and colleague. Lyle Stewart, long-time Saskatchewan Party MLA and former Agriculture Minister has passed away at the age of 73 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Lyle was the MLA for Thunder Creek and Lumsden-Morse and a key member of our team for nearly 24 years, from 1999 until his retirement from politics last year. Lyle was a man of few words, which is unusual for a politician, but you always knew where he stood. His quiet strength and dedication to the people he served were an example to all of us who served with him.
Lyle was a good friend and I will miss him a lot.
On behalf of the our government and the province, I want to express my deepest condolences to the family and many friends of Lyle Stewart. Flags at the Legislature will be lowered to half-mast in his honour.

National Nursing Week is an opportunity to celebrate the over 19,000 nurses working across the province for their contributions to the health and wellbeing of Saskatchewan residents.
SK has one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation. This record growth is a reflection of a policy environment that has fostered and incentivized record investment and record exports. This translates to record job growth and opportunities for SK residents.
Last year these organizations ensured that over 1,000 adults & 1,100 children had access to safe accommodation and resources to rebuild their lives. Over 900 people across the province also received counselling, advocacy services, and support for housing, employment and education
SK broke multiple export records for 2023 and ranked 1st in Canada for per capita exports at $40,425, over double the national average of $18,925, further demonstrating that SK is open for business and continues to be a reliable, sustainable supplier of products the world needs.
Our veterans service clubs work tirelessly on behalf of our communities, & we are thankful for the work they do year-round. The program provides grants for repairs, upgrades, special events, operations, programs & activities to engage communities & advance their work across SK.
Last week, the SK NDP Leader flew to a meeting in Ottawa to plot election strategy to get the Trudeau-NDP government re-elected.
The NDP is Trudeau’s choice for Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan’s economy and population are growing rapidly and with that growth comes a need for new, expanded and renewed infrastructure. Since 2008-09, our government has invested $47.2 billion in infrastructure projects that provide essential services for the province.
