Agreed! That's why I wrote ggpubfigs, a ggplot2 extension that *only colorblind-friendly color palettes.
Easily make your figures colorblind-friendly with ggpubfigs! xitter.cf/NKWhiteman/status/1852…
Now out in @NatMentHealth 🥳🥳🥳 this is the 2nd study of my dissertation with Carrie Bearden, co-led with @dehughes14 💫💫nature.com/articles/s44220-0…
Check out @Sarah_Chang_ 's and my latest preprint: medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…. We investigate the effects of attention and probe the developmental specificity of polygenic signal on psychotic-like experiences in adolescents using ABCD.
A huge thank you to our wonderful co-authors for their insights and contributions!! 😊Jinhan Zhu, @Mahnoorhyat Sullivan Salone, Zachary Goodman, @joshuaroffman @karcher_dr @LM__Hernandez @JenForsythPhD
more highlights of #flux2024 : seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and this absolutely massive french toast featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives 🤪
thank you #flux2024 for a wonderful meeting!!! the precision functional mapping session led by @ArielleKeller was an 11/10!! ✨✨✨ such exciting data and work across the lifespan and in clinical populations @DeannaJGreene @cl9681 @_JuliaMoser
So heartwarming to see the culmination of @BHoltGosselin's work and the wonderful community she's built at @Yale 💖 she crushed it, congrats Dr!!!!
Sending a huge congratulations to Dr. @BHoltGosselin on defending her dissertation today (after only 4 years)!! 🥳🥳 She is a true superstar and I'm so proud/excited to see her continue doing amazing things #PhDone

Every year I read a lot of grad school applications from accomplished people that don't give me the info I'm looking for. It feels like a major hidden curriculum thing. So here's (my opinion on) how to write a great Statement of Purpose/Research for a PhD program. 🧵 1/
Could not ask for more insightful and wonderful labmates, along w our fearless leader! Feeling so grateful post-conference 🤧

Thank you #SOBP2023 for an amazing conference! Always so fun to catch up with old friends + colleagues, meet new folks, and forge ahead with new ideas 🤠 not pictured: many tacos that were consumed
IMO, pubs before grad school reflect luck/timing of a project, a PI's generosity and mentorship, and *could* reflect research capacity. But the first two are absolutely necessary for a pre-grad school paper
An app can stand out for many diff reasons, eg. helping to start a new lab (no papers, new lab), leading diversity and equity initiatives, seeking out REUs/summer research if not at an R01, supporting yourself/family financially, etc...don't not apply if you don't have papers.
