Well deserved honor for MHS superstar Kayla! wibw.com/app/2021/01/08/manh…

The three weeks leading up to the opening of school were stressful. But words cannot describe how great it feels to be back in the classroom with students. We will have great year regardless of the circumstances!

I now have 2 sons at @KState (3rd gen K-Staters!) My freshman son had 4 of his 5 classes moved to online. After $1000 in “online class fees” added to tuition, his 1st online Zoom class was this morning. 90 students sat in the Zoom session for 45 minutes. No professor showed up.

I was hoping for a few students to show up to my AP Calculus Saturday study session. 40+ attended- MHS students rock!

Congratulations to Master Teacher Dedra Braxmeyer! It is an honor to work with someone as hard-working and dedicated as Dedra, and an even greater honor to call her my friend. May we have many more days of accidental twinning 😀

Manhattan High School AP students: You will have access to your AP scores on July 9. You worked incredibly hard! I hope you all earn college credit with a qualifying score. But, even if you don’t, you successfully completed a rigorous college-level course. It’s win-win.

AP Statistics seniors: I am so proud of you for choosing to spend your last afternoon at MHS taking a three hour Advanced Placement Exam. Regardless of your score, this level of dedication will ensure to soar to new heights. Best wishes- I will miss you all!

The best way to prepare for the AP Calculus Exam? Dress as a Wookiee of course!

Superb teamwork today by the AP Calculus students. The slope fields look great!

The much anticipated results are in: Double Stuf Oreos really do have double the cream filling. You’re welcome, Nabisco.

Do “Double Stuf” Oreos really have twice the cream filling as Original Oreos? Results TBA 3rd hour tomorrow!

AP Stats students designed and carried out an observational study comparing the average number of chocolate chips in Kroger vs. Chips Ahoy cookies. The results were delicious 🍪.

Play-Doh isn’t just for preschoolers. Students are using it to model volumes in Calculus class.

AP Stats exam will be Monday due to the snow day 🌨

AP Mathletes: I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow’s Saturday study session at 8:00am. A small time investment in your education will help you reach your post-secondary goals. All sessions will be in C-hall.
