🚨 KytyPS5 could be getting a MUCH more PS5-like launcher, with a new UI overhaul adding the console-style horizontal game carousel, backgrounds, trophy progress and even title music. 👀
• New KytyPS5 PR #1691 was opened October 19
• Replaces the optional grid with a PS5-style horizontal carousel
• Selected games expand with animated tile scaling
• Uses each game’s pic0 artwork as the background
• Shows trophy progress directly in the launcher
• Adds Play, game info and context-menu controls
• Supports looping + crossfading snd0.at9 title music
• Launcher minimizes while a game runs and returns afterward
• Adds System, Dark and Light themes
• FACT: PR is still OPEN, so none of this is in main yet
KytyPS5 feels dramatically more like an actual console frontend if it gets merged.
Huge credit to Pipe530 for the work, and I really like seeing the project improve the experience around the emulator while the low-level compatibility work continues.

🚨 **PS5 14.10 JAILBREAK PROGRESS** 👹🔥
• ✅ Userland code execution confirmed on 14.10
• ✅ Sandbox syscall restrictions bypassed
• ⚡ Around 40 syscalls reportedly accessible
• 🔍 Module ASLR leaks discovered
• 🎮 GPU heap read/write primitives working
• ❌ Kernel R/W — NOT achieved
• ❌ KASLR — NOT defeated
• ❌ Hypervisor bypass — NOT achieved
• ⚠️ **NOT a full jailbreak... YET.**
👀 **The biggest hurdle remains kernel access.** If that barrier falls, things could get VERY interesting. 😈🔥
**14.10, we're watching you... 👹🎮**

Cool, just one thing...
The game engine you use, Unity, is sold to militaries, including the IDF to run stuff like tanks.
You directly support this by using the engine, based on your logic – at Blaine, WA

Xbox might be playing around with the idea of fully returning to Xbox console exclusivity.
Xbox Research: "Imagine all future title releases from every Xbox-developed gaming franchise (except Call of Duty) will be console-exclusive to Xbox (...)".

Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team:
Team,
The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together.
In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another.
These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models.
To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating.
I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have.
Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway.

Today we are announcing our biggest bet yet on our own silicon.
Starting next calendar year, we will scale our Maia family to multi-gigawatt deployments, making it the primary inference system for our own product and services.
And we’re introducing Maia 300, which delivers 40% more tokens per watt compared to leading GPU-based systems.
We are already deploying Maia 200 across the US, Europe, and Australia, delivering up to 1.7x more tokens per watt across experiences in Teams and Copilot.
Our goal is to build on the full-stack efficiency gains we’ve already seen, while continuing to bring the latest innovations from across the ecosystem into our fleet.

A software engineer named Frederik Wessberg is creating a PC mod for Starfield that enables seamless landings on planets and moons without any loading screens! The mod will be 100% free and released on Nexus Mods.
Frederik says, “You can do it entirely auto-piloted and leave your cockpit seat and walk freely around your ship or enjoy the views while the ship flies from orbit to ground. Or, you can fly manually too. Fly around in low orbit and enjoy the views, or indeed fly uninterrupted to land on the ground.” #Starfield

Saying Gears of War E-Day isn't successful strictly based on sales numbers is like saying Stranger Things isn't successful because it didn't sell enough copies.
Millions of people have already played it in just a few days.
If a subscription service like Game Pass is how people want to consume it, why hold it against the game?
Whether the revenue meets Microsoft's expectations is Microsoft's problem to solve. Most players only care whether they're getting a great game at a good value.
