@mwesterdahl76 is working on vector font rendering using existing .ttf / .otf font support.
This allows for highly detailed, more readable glyphs and makes it possible to use different font sizes without consuming additional texture memory for each size.
And there’s another nice side effect: emoji support! 😃🥳🎉
An emoji font can be added to the font collection, allowing Defold’s font renderer to find and render emoji glyphs directly alongside regular text.
Stay tuned, it should come even this year 🧡💙

Now that github.com/defold/extension-… has more or less stabilized (not that many changes are needed), @v1aaad and I are designing a CLI tool that will be able to incorporate everything automation-bridge can do and even more.
