My sister Mahrang Baloch writes from prison for @HRF “My greatest concern has never been simply when I will walk out of this prison. It is when families across Balochistan will no longer have to search for their disappeared loved ones, when young people will be able to express their political beliefs without fear, and when the demand for justice will no longer be treated as a crime.” xitter.cf/HRF/status/21143564556… #ReleaseDrMahrangBaloch
Today, HRF shines a light on human rights defender Dr. Mahrang Baloch. She is serving two life sentences in Pakistan for her advocacy on behalf of the Baloch minority, who have faced enforced disappearances, torture, and killing. Writing from prison, Mahrang describes her work as both deeply personal and collective: “I do not consider my own suffering separate from the suffering of my people. My greatest concern has never been simply when I will walk out of this prison. It is when families across Balochistan will no longer have to search for their disappeared loved ones, when young people will be able to express their political beliefs without fear, and when the demand for justice will no longer be treated as a crime.” HRF demands that Pakistan release Mahrang Baloch and echoes her vision for a society where all people can live freely, without fear: “I remain convinced that fear cannot be the permanent foundation of any society. Prisons may confine individuals, but they cannot permanently contain the desire for freedom, dignity, and justice.” Learn more → ow.ly/J7mf5100HCR #DispatchesfromDetention #MahrangBaloch

Urgent Appeal to the International Community: Stop the Forced Displacement of Baloch Families in Kalat, Balochistan Disturbing reports are emerging from the Kalat Shor Parod region of Balochistan, where the Pakistani military and provincial authorities are allegedly forcing innocent Baloch families to abandon their ancestral homes and villages. These families have lived on their land for generations, some for hundreds of years. Today, women, children, elderly people, and entire families reportedly face displacement in the name of so-called peace and security operations. Their homes, schools, hospitals, livelihoods, and ancestral lands are reportedly under threat. Families who have committed no crime should not be punished, uprooted, or deprived of their fundamental human rights. Peace cannot be achieved by destroying homes, displacing children, and terrorizing innocent civilians. I urgently appeal to the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and all international humanitarian organizations to investigate these reports, intervene through appropriate humanitarian channels, and demand an immediate end to any unlawful forced displacement, collective punishment, and destruction of civilian property. The Baloch people deserve to live in peace, dignity, and safety on their ancestral land. The world must not remain silent when innocent families are suffering. Indeed. Danielle Smith has done so much harm to Canada she needs to resign 🇨🇦 youtu.be/uga8OosNF9g?si=X21W… #Ableg #ABpoli #Alberta #Canada
It would be hard to find another person totally disloyal to Canada and totally disloyal to regular Albertans who among other priorities, struggle to access healthcare in a province that should have a robust publicly funded healthcare system.

27 bullet-riddled bodies found dumped across Balochistan in less than a week. But you won’t find a single line about it in Pakistan’s mainstream urban media, not a single tweet from prominent journalists, vloggers, or YouTubers. Baloch lives don’t matter in Pakistan proper.

People with this mindset enjoy Western freedom, safety, equality, and opportunity while constantly attacking the society that provides them. If you believe your former society is better, nothing is stopping you from going back. You can’t enjoy the benefits of the West while constantly denigrating it.
First-generation Third World immigrants might have some gratitude; later generations do not. They are intellectually inbred, have an identity crisis, romanticize what their parents left behind, and get isolated rather than assimilated.

Ten years ago today, on 4 October 2016, Shabir Baloch was taken from Gwarkop in Kech, Balochistan, and has not been seen since. He was serving as Central Information Secretary of the Baloch Students Organization (Azad). Pakistani security forces detained him during a raid while he was with his wife. Others taken that day were later released; he was not. Police initially refused to register a case. His family later petitioned the courts and Pakistan’s Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances. International bodies, including Amnesty International and the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, have also been notified. But still his whereabouts remain unknown. For a decade his sister Seema Baloch and his wife Zarina Baloch have protested in Turbat, Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and elsewhere, demanding either his production in court or information on whether he is alive. His wife has publicly said she does not know whether to call herself a wife or a widow. The case remains one of thousands of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Ten years is not a statistic. It is a family still waiting for an answer that has never come. #SaveShabirBaloch #EndEnforcedDisappearances
