@MartinSLewis Any advice on the appeal process for people who won’t receive the cost of living payment? Had a nil award in the qualifying period due to a payroll error at work. The case managers won’t help but the gov page says to speak to the office that pay your benefit?
@MartinSLewis I basically got double UC in March and nothing in April period due to the error on my payslip. Had it been correct, we would have had a payment from UC and thus got the cost of living payment. PLEASE HELP!

The debates for past 8 weeks on face masks, optimizing testing & tracing, hand hygiene & border control are like watching a fire burning down a forest & firefighters turning their backs & squabbling on what to do. By the time a decision is made, the destruction is done.

Practical suggestions. We need to:
1. Resume testing, like most countries in the world. Testing helps break chains of transmission.
2. Social distancing to slow down spread like working from home, stop non-essential travel, stop large gatherings.
3. Protect health workers.

I've written to Boris Johnson calling for emergency support for people affected by the coronavirus epidemic, including rent deferrals and mortgage holidays, higher statutory sick pay from day one, and income protection for insecure, low-paid and self-employed workers.
