Using a story map allows the children in the nursery to visualise characters, events, and settings. Daisy has enjoyed sharing the story of How to Catch a Star with the class using a story map. @DeltaStrand @PieCorbett @Talk4Writing @HMSWizardFS1 #HowToCatchAStar🌟

Fab day with the @Talk4Writing family. Always so much to reflect upon as we continue to grow.
Also great to have the annual data drop: TfW training centres continue to significantly outperform national averages in all subjects, despite most serving very challenging communities.
Super TfW Development Day with all of the Centres, Showcase Schools and consultants in Birmingham today. ✍️
Thanks @PieCorbett and @JamieThomasTFW 👏

What an utterly inspiring day at Yew Tree Community School, Birmingham! The passion for oral storytelling through @Talk4Writing was utterly infectious, as well as high expectations for all. A truly inclusive school! @PieCorbett

In T4W we are getting ready to write a spine poem. We have been focusing on different baddies for our defeat the monster story. Today, we have created a word bank to the big, bad wolf. We are looking forward to writing our spine poem tomorrow!

Brilliant to meet staff and students at @stmichaelsb21 today to talk about driving high and rising standards, while fostering a sense of belonging in schools.
We want every child to achieve and thrive, the two go hand in hand 🤝
It was our privilege to welcome the Secretary of State for Education @bphillipsonMP to St. Michael's today. Even the little matter of three escaped guinea pigs couldn't ruin the day for staff and children! It was lovely to talk all things community, families and education.

I've never really understood why other subjects should dictate what the next class book is. Books should be selected because they'll make the children gasp, laugh, cry, think and empathise, not because there's some heavily contrived link to Squirrels & Submarines. #Edutwitter
Wild Robot is one of my favourite children’s books and the film did not disappoint!
Not a dry eye in sight and a big recommend if you loved the book. @MrWalkerPrimary What did you think?

Another great book for Y3/4. I felt like I was reading something influenced by Stig of the Dump, Stone Aged Boy and Skellig. Absolutely loved this one and would want to read it to a LKS2 class. @Talk4Writing @PieCorbett @SchoolReading @OpenUni_RfP @jonnybid

Book 2 of the holiday…
Epic alternative timeline fantasy by @kmlarwood
“Jed Greenleaf” is proper rip-roaring page-turner. Once gripped I couldn’t put it down. Full of magic and heart, it’s a story of treachery and deceit and about becoming the hero you need to be. Fabulous.
