🇸🇩 UN: Drone strikes kill over 1,000 civilians in Sudan in first five months of 2026 More than 1,000 civilians have been killed in drone strikes in Sudan between January and May 2026, a senior UN human rights official said, warning of a sharp escalation in the war’s brutality. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said there has been a “sharp increase” in drone attacks alongside widespread reports of rape and sexual violence, as the war enters its fourth year. At least 2,670 people, including civilians and combatants, were killed in 2025, marking a 600% increase in drone-related deaths, according to ACLED data. This statement follows a recent strike by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that killed at least 15 people in el-Obeid, after drones hit a cemetery and a gas station, health officials said. Sudan Tribune reported yesterday marked the 5th consecutive day of RSF attacks on the key city.
Paramilitary RSF drones targeted fuel supplies in Sudan's strategic city of El Obeid for a fifth consecutive day, destroying multiple stations and expanding attacks into neighbouring White Nile state. sudantribune.com/article/315… #Sudan #ElObeid #NorthKordofan

This is something that everyone should read:
Replying to @jaketapper
You and Dana do not get to hide behind antisemitism here, Jake. You each played a seminal role in marketing Israel's genocide to Americans after Oct 7, pushing every atrocity hoax you could. When the Gaza Holocaust Museum is constructed, there will be a special exhibition about cynical Zionist propagandists like you and Dana Fash. Your name is still on the byline of a CNN report claiming Al-Shifa Hospital sat atop a massive terror command and control center. Your fake report, sourced to one anonymous "US official," appeared hours before Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Shifa, kidnapping doctors and hauling them to torture centers. No command and control center has been found, but you have not apologized or retracted. You personally manufactured consent for the destruction of Gaza's hospitals and its entire public health system. cnn.com/2023/11/13/politics/… You also gave an uncritical platform to lies from United Hatzalah, the extremist group of grifters that fabricated atrocities about babies baked in ovens and mutilated children on Oct 7 which have been discredited even in Israeli media. You have never acknowledged that the testimony furnished to you by Hatzalah's Linor Attias, has been solidly discredited by evidence on the ground. thegrayzone.com/2023/12/06/s… You also led a special report on the Oct 7 "mass rape" hoax spun out by the Israeli government, which was desperate to justify destroying northern Gaza and massacring hundreds of entire families in their homes. We exposed your sources as complete frauds, as did @Mondoweiss, and you have never responded, let alone acknowledged that many were tied to the Israeli govt. mondoweiss.net/2023/12/cnn-r… You even launched into a 7 minute long tirade explicitly justifying Israel's slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza, by asking every single Palestinian, "What did you expect?" By your logic, they should expect genocide if they dare attack the demonic entity that has held them under occupation and siege for decades. Months and months later, Israel is still ripping little kids to shreds in their homes and spreading infectious diseases throughout tent cities in Gaza. It has constructed a network of torture centers across the land, where its soldiers rape Palestinian prisoners on camera. Israelis have rioted across the country for the right of their soldiers to rape Palestinians. They are making heroes out of the rapist soldiers on national TV. And you and your fellow ethno-supremacists at CNN have said nothing. Not one word about the documented rape by Israeli soldiers of defenseless Palestinian prisoners. And now you want us to believe that Americans who are outraged by your wanton journalistic malpractice, repugnantly genocidal commentary, and refusal to even acknowledge your own lies, are actually the racists, and you are the victim? No one who has been paying attention to the livestreamed genocide you and Dana propagandized for in Gaza is falling for it. You must be held accountable. What Judge Navi Pilay said when he convicted three media personalities for inciting the Rwanda genocide, could easily be said about you and Dana Bash: “You were fully aware of the power of words, and you used the…medium of communication with the widest public reach to disseminate hatred and violence… Without a firearm, machete or any physical weapon, you caused the death of thousands of innocent civilians.”

I am watching a toddler die on a table in a field hospital in Rafah with half her face blown apart while listening to college students fight tears reporting on a police assault on their campus for protesting that, and I feel like I am losing my fucking mind.

We currently use Israeli software product @mondaydotcom for all of our workflows. Over the years, we have been raving fans of the product and have helped many other companies adapt and integrate into it. We were nothing more than advocates of the product, and never received any compensation for any of our efforts. I reached out to them multiple times and asked them if they would support a ceasefire and I got a meaningless word salad response. Since we do not support genocide, we are looking for a replacement product. Any suggestions? @clickup @Jira @paulbiggar

At this very moment, there are likely dozens of little kids alive under the rubble in Gaza. They're screaming or whispering for help as they slowly suffocate, or die from hunger, thirst and unfathomable fear. With the right tools and international support, they could be saved. Yet, Israel's siege is preventing access - the local civil services and ambulances lack the technology to reach them. Some have been bombed when they’ve tried. Read this slowly: Children, who could be saved, are dying a slow, painful death. They are hostages to Israeli brutality and international inaction, being tortured to death. Remember how the world responded when children in Thailand were stuck in a cave? Or the Chilean miners' rescue operation? So many other cases of humanity collectively trying to save innocent lives. The fact that world leaders are blocking humanity from collective action to save these kids, led by the American President and US veto power, when at the very least innocent children could be rescued…what does that say about how these global leaders view our humanity? And then many of these leaders have the nerve to talk to us about peace? If they are unwilling to force a ceasefire (or even simply call for it) to save our dying children, when close to 4000 kids have already been sacrificed at the alter of “Israeli deterrence”…how can anyone expect us to trust them and their words about peace? It becomes evident that when they speak of “peace,” they actually mean a peace that suffocates us, the oppressed, under the guise of their tranquility - a cage that is shiny yet imprisoning and dehumanizing. True peace requires that human dignity is mutually honored, that the call for justice is heard. If you are failing to hear the cries of our children under the rubble, do not expect us to trust your pronouncements of “peace”. Our children’s lives are the price of this world's silence. If their existence is negotiable, your talks of peace are nothing but whispers of betrayal. You want true, sustainable, and lasting peace - ensure that Palestinian children grow up free, dignified, with equal rights, and the opportunity to thrive and flourish in their ancestral homeland. If you put an end to the systems of oppression stripping Palestinian children of those basic rights, and dismantle the ideologies that declare our kids’ lives less worthy, there will be peace, real beautiful inspiring transformative peace, peace for all. As long as you defend the systems of oppression, fund them, cooperate with them, then you are complicit in the bloodshed, pain and suffering that’s been ongoing for a century. Then you are the real obstacle to peace. You are war incarnate. The choice is yours: will you hear and honor the calls for peace whispering from under the rubble in Gaza? If you turn away from these dying children’s cries for peace, at least have the basic courtesy of never using that word again.

I have a pit in my stomach and can not see or think straight knowing that there is a massacre happening now. I never thought I would see a full blown genocide unfold with the support of superpowers. We failed the Palestinian people. And humanity.

I was moderating a real estate meeting earlier today with colleagues in RE, and heard the following which struck a cord: There are two types of defaults...

4,049
1.) Monetary default, this is when a borrower can not afford to pay a mortgage payment and they default (this is found in residential real estate)

2.) Maturity default, this is when a borrower's loan term is due and they need to refinance into another loan at a much higher interest, symptomatic of the current interest rate environment (this is found in commercial real estate)

"The customer's perception is your reality" This quote highlights the importance of how customers perceive your business. A company's success and reputation are not solely determined by its own beliefs/intentions but by how customers perceive its products, services, and brand. In other words, it's not enough for a business to think highly of itself; it must also ensure that it meets/exceeds client expectations. An easy way to help bridge this gap is having streamline processes and responses that follow the same steps each time. If done correctly, consistency can go a long way.

I read this quote today - and it struck a cord: "Adversity is the forge upon which great businesses are tempered. Embrace the challenges, for they are the raw materials of your success" While we understand that adversity builds grit, we often times overlook the fact that it can be the building blocks to help us grow.
