Such terribly sad news. Thousands will have special stories about Mr Friar, all of them worth hearing. I worked at Arsenal for six years and his kindness to the clueless kid who showed up there left a huge mark. All time spent with and around him was treasured. Rest well.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Life President Ken Friar OBE.
Since our formation in 1886, there have been many inspirational individuals who have driven our club forward, but no one has had an influence on Arsenal Football Club quite like ‘Mr Friar’ and he leaves an extraordinary life of service to the club as his legacy. One that will surely never be matched.

Etihad statement to commission was:
"The assertion that the Abu Dhabi government paid for Etihad's sponsorship of English Premier League football club Manchester City is … false. In 2011, Etihad and Manchester City entered into a 10-year sponsorship agreement, which included naming rights for Manchester City's stadium. Etihad funded this sponsorship from its own liquidity’
