These 32 #BloodBikes commemorate the 32 people killed on Bloor, Yonge & University in 20-years before bike lanes were built.
After bike lanes were installed only one tragic loss of a life has occurred in 6-years since 2020.
Bike lanes keep EVERYONE save.

Bike lanes keep EVERYONE save, not only people cycling.
☠️ Everyone should be scared of bike lane removal...
- Drivers don't want bikes in their lanes and don't want to lose on-street parking
- Pedestrians don't want people riding e-bikes on sidewalks
- People on bikes just don't want to die trying to get home
🚨 Honoured to witness the powerful uprising of over 600 doctors & health care workers fighting to keep bike lanes on Bloor, University & Yonge🚨

Curb extensions narrow the road for short sections by extending the curb into the roadway. They manage vehicle speeds, improve visibility, reduce pedestrian crossing distances, and increase space for pedestrian storage and street furniture. toronto.ca/wp-content/upload…
Bikes have always been on Bloor & will not go away...let's keep these people safe and separate bikes from car lanes!
Good morning from the Ontario Bike Summit #OBS2026 where @MayorOliviaChow spoke about making streets safer for everyone including #BikeTO. She talked about side guides, slower cars, bike lanes, bike share, potholes, traffic agents & education - which all help make roads safer.
We had sponsor presentations from @Uber_Canada and @CAA - these folks have a lot of financial motivation to make roads safer! It's a win-win partnership, great work @chrisjamesdrew for making this awesome connection happen! #OBS2026
Today @STRCycling has released new provincial polling data showing how Ontario feels about Cycling. #OBS2026 #OnPoli #CycleOn #ToPoli #BikeTo sharetheroad.ca/news/64-of-o…
Great CityNews article & video story on Portland Street data 📊includes qualitative reports saying we are keeping puppies 🐶 safe & focus on “quieter” street:
It’s a 1000x better - It’s safer for everyone: pedestrians, puppies, cyclists, and the cars”

The City of Toronto installed the Portland Street two-way bikeway and road safety improvements this summer. Initial data collection reveals increased pedestrian and cycling volumes, and decreased motor vehicle volumes. Visit toronto.ca/portlanddanleckie to learn more.
Exciting to see this installation just a few hundred metres from my Condo’s front door.
Biking home from a Toronto Blue Jays game or concert at the Rogers Centre just got safer, thanks to a new westbound cycle track installed on Bremner Boulevard between Spadina Avenue and Navy Wharf Court! Visit toronto.ca/cycling to learn more about cycling in Toronto.
*NEW DATA* on #PortlandStreet #Bikeway shows YoY:

Fun fact of the day 🙂 Toronto-East York District is 16% of Toronto's land area - but it contains 39% of the 'length' of existing bikeways & 78% of all daily cycling trips in Toronto start in the area based on 2022 TTS trip data. #BikeTO
I was drawn in to take photos of the new street today too! Things are starting to look very nice! No line for pizza yet but I'm sure it will be coming soon 🍕

Great reporting on new Portland road safety upgrades by @lanesharrison for @CBCToronto - the intersection changes at Wellington help reduce cut through traffic & minimize conflicts between people walking/cycling & dangerous motor vehicles cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/p… #bikeTO #walkTO
