Mississippi has significantly higher rates of drug use, mental illness, unemployment, and poverty than California. But homelessness there is a whopping 10x lower, because at the end of the day homelessness comes down to whether someone can afford to pay the rent.

Are you a Santa Monica resident? Some on the Santa Monica city council are trying to chip away at progress made on protected bike lanes in the city, including making changes to “enhance vehicle movements” Make your voice heard: us4.campaign-archive.com/?u=…

Mobility and climate advocates wrote to @California_CTC regarding the next CTC executive director. We need a CTC led by someone that supports: - transit capital and operations investment - active transportation - transit integration - equity

In real terms, Houston, TX has lower housing costs than the 1980s *and* currently resettles more refugees than anywhere else in the country, because they build housing
Replying to @JDVance
To that I say: I agree! We should build more. But I also live in the real world, and until we build more housing, our immigration policies are stealing good, low-cost housing from our citizens. Progressives can’t wish away this reality with bogus charts or bad data.

I’m deeply saddened by the hate & ignorance perpetuated by leaders of other states for cheap political points, & I am truly disappointed that our beloved LA Dodgers have given in to their manufactured outrage. (1/2)

We are here in front of @RendonAD62’s office asking that he move AB-645 forward. Too many people die in our streets due to speeding drivers. Automated speed enforcement will save lives. @StreetsR4Every1 @streetsforall

Smelled the paint from a block away and got really excited 😍 Made it from UCLA to 17th st in <20min at rush hour, riding along gridlock traffic… Breaking news: gridlock traffic also happens on streets that don’t have protected bike lanes.

Yes, increasing housing supply does reduce rent. "Apartment rents fell in every major metropolitan area over the past six months through January, a trend that is poised to continue as the biggest delivery of new apartments in nearly four decades is slated for this year."
