BREAKING: 🇩🇰 Two young men, aged 18 and 21, have been arrested in Denmark on suspicion of espionage for Russian intelligence services, in a case involving a Danish defence technology company that supplies anti-drone equipment to Ukraine and NATO forces. North Jutland Police, working alongside Denmark’s Security and Intelligence Service (PET), are investigating the case involving MyDefence, a company headquartered on Hjørringvej in Nørresundby. According to prosecutors, the two accused allegedly photographed the company on October 19, together with several as-yet-unidentified individuals. The images were subsequently sent to a user on the messaging service Telegram. The prosecution believes the photographs were intended for a Russian intelligence service. Danish broadcaster DR, which is also covering the court proceedings, reports that a third person is said to remain at large. The suspects are charged under Section 108(1) of the Danish Penal Code, which concerns unlawful intelligence activities on behalf of a foreign power. MyDefence develops and supplies anti-drone solutions to military and security forces worldwide, including the US Army, the Australian Army, Ukraine and NATO forces. Both men appeared before the Court in Aalborg and pleaded not guilty. The hearing is being held behind closed doors as the investigation continues.

In early October 2026, Haiti announced the postponement of campaigning for presidential and parliamentary elections expected on 13 December — with no new election dates confirmed. @ChrisSabatini argues in our latest policy paper that elections held too soon – and under current security conditions – could add further to the instability in Haiti. Former Israeli intelligence officer Tal Dilian showcased the capabilities of a multi-million dollar “spy van” built by his company in an interview with Forbes in August 2019. Dilian was the CEO of WiSpear Systems Limited, which equipped the converted GMC ambulance with an extensive suite of cameras, computers, antennae, and software, allowing for near total surveillance of its targets. Dillian demonstrated on camera the ability to hack a cell phone and install surveillance software using a “zero click” exploit, meaning the target did not even need to click a link or open an email attachment to allow WiSpear to fully invade their cell phone. Afterwards he had complete access to the target phone’s call history, photos, and messages. Shortly after Forbes published this story, police in Larnaca, Cyprus, where WiSpear is headquartered, seized the van after complaints were made by the local AKEL political party. Arrest warrants were issued for Dilian and two WiSpear employees, but they left the country and were never arrested. Eventually, a total of 91 charges centered around breaching privacy and electronic communications laws were levied against Dilion and WiSpear. By February 2022, 42 of the charges were dropped, and WiSpear paid a total of 76,000 Euros in fines imposed for the remaining charges. Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has also publicly stated that diplomatic relations with Israel had not been harmed by the incident. In recent years, WiSpear and other Israeli surveillance firms have been implicated in numerous high-profile scandals and exposes regarding the hacking of devices belonging to journalists, dissidents, and activists worldwide on behalf of their international clients. Most famously, NSO Group has been linked to the death of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post reporter who was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018. Phones belonging to his fiancée and several associates were found to contain NSO Group’s flagship surveillance software known as Pegasus. #israel #spy #surveillance #cyprus #zeroclick
