Another great day at Kew doing research for the forthcoming PSL book... From Trade Unions opposing MOD Civil Servants being issued NBC kit, to a full Home Office War Book, it was a day full of discoveries that change our understanding of Cold War history.

Duty. Commitment. Mission. The National Security Act of 1947 created our Nationโ€™s first peacetime intelligence agency to gather and share intelligence to protect our homeland from foreign threats. We are proud to serve our fellow Americans as we take on this extraordinary task.

Russia has summoned Britain's charge d'affaires in Moscow to issue a formal protest over the UK's weapons supplies to Ukraine. Britain has pledged to provide Ukraine with the military equipment it needs to resist Russia's occupation. It comes on the first day of Russia's parliamentary elections - where the only party opposed to the war in Ukraine has been barred from standing.

Important clarification. References to "intelligence" should be backed - as we saw with the UK's response to Salisbury and Ukraine - with evidence, otherwise it's just "vibes" and risks undermining trust.
On the warnings coming out of Poland, am told that this isnโ€™t the result of substantive new intelligence. It is reacting to events of recent days and echoing similar sentiment to Wes Streeting when he spoke in parliament about the threat last week

"The first intelligence source says the culture is also changing inside MI6 to accommodate younger, impassioned officers". Erm, "first intelligence source" needs to understand that "younger, impassioned officers" have always joined SIS. See previous generations ๐Ÿ˜‰
Most intelligence sharing is transactional and focused around security and mutual interest. This story seems gossip and based on sources who don't appear to know how liaison works - oh, and the headline is clickbait ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ
