"There was a tendency for Irish filmmakers to make (the films) seem as if they were set anywhere but the more you stay true to the setting...there's a much better chance of resonating instead of making a nowhere film"

Great to hear from two SPI members @WildCardDistrib and Tina O'Reilly about making two very different, but equally powerful Irish films - 'Kneecap' and 'That They May Face the Rising Sun'

That They May Face The Rising Sun was sublime. Packed house - beautiful acting - sounded & looked fantastic. Don’t miss the chance to see it large and loud in the company of cinemagoers and with the phone turned off. It’s special. @brendanjbyrne

Just saw ‘That They May Face the Rising Sun’, a gorgeous, deeply affecting adaptation of the wonderful McGahern novel. So well cast and beautifully shot. Standout performances by Lalor Roddy and Seán McGinley. A stunning, captivating beaut of a film that will move you.

One of the (many) things I loved about That They May Face The Rising Sun, is how tenderly it holds the connection between people and Ireland's natural landscape.
Nature's health, beauty, and wonder, is ultimately our own.
Go see this film this weekend!
