We oppose police in schools because SROs criminalize students' adolescent actions, introducing them to the criminal justice system at a young age. Hiring specialized professionals like counselors or social workers would better improve school environment + safety.

Don’t get fooled by the endless outcry of “access” when it comes to behavioral health prevention programs and clinical services. Yell back “the services aren’t relevant to communities and there’s no representation in whose delivering services”.

Happy @401Gives weekend, Rhode Island! This year, I made donations to two incredible organizations doing impactful work for our young people: BBBSRI and @STEAMBoxRI. Major kudos to these organizations who work every single day to support our future leaders.

I was at this hearing when this horrific question was asked, and the wrongful and harmful characterization of LGBTQ people was publicly made. As a Black Queer Woman I was deeply impacted by this comment. 🧵(1/5)

Hey @projo, this picture of @Nirva_LaFortune, candidate for Mayor of Providence, is unacceptable. The two men are shown smiling. The Black woman deserves better. She has many great pictures to select from. Stereotyping her as an angry Black woman is shameful. Do better!
