If you mean by sitting in a pre-con, ignore the news, and enforcing a personal media black out …. Then yes, I will be extremely productive.
AD is great for handling access to SQL until it isn’t. Spent the last half day trying to figure out why group permissions didn’t work. Turns out, the group was acting like an orphaned user.
I should probably blog this.
I hate referring to mgmt as leadership. Leadership can come from anyone. Mgmt is confused what their role is, which is to protect the business and the people under their charge who get the business done. It sucks when mgmt makes decisions based on $ vs people.
Ty! We have a few on prem, mostly in Aurora, and a couple in RDS not Aurora. All spun up by devs, now getting tossed over wall to us because you know…it’s a different skill set.

I honestly miss those…at least the ones where you could watch the lightning in the clouds 30-50 miles away. The tornados on the other hand, I do not miss.
Trying hard not to get overwhelmed by the lack tooling and staff, while at the same time keep my sanity and remember it’s just a job, nothing personal. Some days are easier than others, 3 am wake up calls that prod is down feels personal though….
First #PASSDataSummit on the books. Had a great time, learned a ton, and met some interesting people. This may become a regular thing.
