Great analogy, and not just because I used to own a Prius.
The ROI is situational. If I have 3 passengers a Prius works. If I run a business and need to move 40 people the bus is the winner.
We are not yet at a level of maturity to be able to accurately analyze ROI for investment beyond simple tasks.

My hope is those cheering this news were also fighting for Kimmel to comeback.
The rights enshrined by the constitution are to protect ‘we the people’ from the government.
