"When we prepared Run to the Top in the early 1960s, we based the stamina building phase on this 160km a week and many runners adopted this as a no-more no-less requirement, which of course it isn't." AL '83

When I’ve paced the marathon you practically have people who want to hold your hand , they look at you with disgust when you ask for a bit of space

@parkrunUK at HMP Feltham is always a powerful and inspiring experience.
Having been through my own journey in prison I know first hand how sport can change the direction of someone's life.
I ran alongside two 17 year old lads and it really hit home.
It's a powerful reminder that young people can be at very different points in their lives through no fault of their own.
That's why these sport and mentor opportunities are so important in prison.
It can give people purpose, structure, self belief and most importantly hope that their past doesn't have to define their future.
Seeing the @parkrunUK community come together to support young men in prison is a reminder of the power of sport to bring people together create opportunities and show people that others believe in them.
Sometimes all it takes is for someone to believe in you before you start believing in
