Today in the Legislature, SaskEnergy Minister Dustin Duncan introduced Bill 151 - The Carbon Tax Fairness for Families Act - to have SaskEnergy stop collecting the carbon tax on natural gas starting January 1.
We will continue to press the federal government to remove the Trudeau-NDP carbon tax on everything for everyone.
But until that happens, our government will ensure carbon tax fairness for Saskatchewan families by removing the carbon tax from SaskEnergy bills.

The Supreme Court today ruled that the federal government “overstepped its constitutional competence” and the federal Impact Assessment Act is unconstitutional.
This should cause the federal government to rethink the many other areas where it is overstepping its constitutional competence, like electrical generation and oil and gas production.

Saskatchewan’s strong and growing economy has enabled our government to allocate $1.5 billion of our $1.58 billion surplus to pay down debt, saving $66 million per year in estimated future interest costs!
This reduction in debt is in addition to supports for Saskatchewan residents provided in the 2022-23 Budget like the $500 Saskatchewan Affordability Tax Credit, extending the small business tax rate reduction, and keeping recreational activities for youth PST exempt.
The continued economic growth taking place in our province is creating more jobs and opportunities in every corner of Saskatchewan while providing our government the opportunity to invest in the programs and services that matter most to you.
That’s growth that works for everyone.

As export numbers continue to reach record levels, our strong and growing economy also continues to create more jobs for people here at home.
