HOW I BECAME FRIENDS WITH ALAN WHITE THE FORMER DRUMMER OF THE BAND YES, JOHN LENNON, AND YOKO ONO'S PLASTIC ONO BAND A true story of Alan White, you can't find on wiki. In a Seattle suburb called Mukilteo, WA. I attended a small church called Mukilteo Christian Church. This church was so small it had only a handful of attendees. The only attendees at this church were Pastors Roy and Valerie Hartwell, their two adult daughters Athena and Nicole, Athena's fiancee Jeff Blude and me. In about the year 1999, one day our pastor Roy told us, "we're going to have a celebrity join us. The drummer for the band Yes." Roy was excited. I was happy too. Alan White came into the church the following Sunday with his wife Gigi and their kids. We all met them after the service. Alan and his wife were really nice people. Alan didn't speak much about his music life but he did admit that he was the drummer of Yes. Alan and I became friends in the church. Unfortunately Alan passed away on May 26, 2022. He was a nice guy who loved his family and he was passionate about serving Jesus. Alan was also a great musician. If anyone deserves to go to Heaven it was Alan. R. I. P. I moved into Roy and Valerie's home in Mukilteo shortly before moving back to Oregon and then back to where I grew up in Arizona. I lost contact with the church and it's members after the church closed in Mukilteo. I became a musician in the Seattle area @SET4TH before moving back to Arizona. Athena and Jeff got married. I went to their wedding but they eventually divorced. Athena is a photographer now and lives in Connecticut and has a son. I'm not sure if Athena kept her married name but Athena still uses Jeff's last name for her photography business Athenablude.com Jeff Blude lives on the east coast now and I haven't had any contact with him. Jeff did visit me in Arizona and we had a great time in Sedona. Jeff is a great guy who's passionate about helping others and serving Christ. Valerie Hartwell unfortunately lost her husband Roy and now she is a pastor at Jesus Unlimited Church in Gig Harbor, WA.
