He noted that food systems in the region face growing pressures from climate change, water scarcity, and market volatility, calling for practical innovation that reaches rural communities. Mr. CHICCA stressed that scaling success stories requires more than replication: it needs sound policy, sustained financing, capable institutions and partnerships. It explores how innovation, partnerships and investment can translate successful national experiences into practical regional solutions for food security and sustainable agrifood systems. 📉 Extreme poverty in OIC countries continues to decline. The share of the population living on less than USD 3 per day in OIC countries declined from 20% in 2015 to 16.7% in 2024, a reduction of 3.4 percentage points, exceeding the global decline of 3 percentage points. Yet, extreme poverty remains above 30% in several OIC countries in West and East Africa. Sustained efforts are needed to ensure that progress reaches those most in need. #EndPoverty #SDG1

The combined GDP of OIC countries reached USD 10.04 trillion in 2025, increasing from USD 7.95 trillion in 2021. According to SESRIC's OIC Economic Outlook 2026, OIC countries accounted for 15% of global economic output in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms in 2025. With a population exceeding 2 billion people, OIC countries represent a significant economic force with expanding markets, productive capacities and opportunities for greater economic cooperation.
