Earlier this month, Ms. Felicity Cain, Country Director (OiC) of UN-Habitat Syria, welcomed Mr. Yousef Al-Mulla, Manager of the Humanitarian Aid Department at the @qatar_fund in Damascus to discuss the advancement of Syria’s urban recovery and sustainable reconstruction. UN-Habitat presented its impactful work supporting the Government of Syria on participatory urban recovery planning, restoration of urban basic services infrastructure, adequate housing, municipal governance, and protection of Housing, Land & Property (HLP) rights. UN-Habitat and QFFD explored areas of collaboration, in particular urban recovery and housing rehabilitation, to support the many Syrians who are now returning to their homes and starting to rebuild their lives. Together, we’re working towards a future full of hope, opportunity, safety and dignity for all Syrians.
