Today, and every day, we proudly celebrate the women who serve and protect Suffolk County. Their strength, commitment and dedication make a difference every day, both within our department and throughout the communities we serve.
Happy National Police Woman Day!
This week members of the Suffolk County Police Dept. met with leaders of our local Jewish community to discuss safety and security ahead of the Jewish High Holidays. We’re proud to strengthen our partnership and work together to ensure a safe and peaceful holiday season for all.
25 years later, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the courage that united our nation.
The Fifth Precinct remembers. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Behind every child crossing the street is someone waiting to see them walk through the door.
As we head back to school, please slow down, stay alert, put the phone down, and watch for children.
Because someone is waiting for them to come home.

Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol Bureau Officers Keith Jansen and John Puzelli recently came to the aid of an injured hawk found in the median of Sunrise Highway in Mastic.
The hawk was unable to fly due to an injured wing, and after several attempts, Officer Jansen safely secured the bird using an emergency blanket. The hawk was then transported to West Islip Animal Hospital for treatment.
Great work by our Suffolk County Police Officers, who are always ready to answer the call—no matter who needs help.

A personal watercraft hit a wave, capsized, sending three people into the Great South Bay yesterday.
Marine Bureau officers responded, deployed life rings, and safely rescued the father and his 2 children.
Great job by our officers.
