Latest publication: Hammers and Nails: Military Innovation as a Strategic Dead End
In this article I argue that innovation has become an end-in-itself, supplanting the much harder challenge of defining a meaningful, justifiable and achievable strategy
Many thanks to the folks at @milstrategymag for publishing my work.

Ukraine Update 🇺🇦
@jaglancy and I delivered humanitarian aid to the front-line areas in the southeast of Ukraine. One family we met was hit by a missile strike the very next day. Their son was killed, and their father died in the hospital yesterday.
These are poor people who had very little to begin with. They couldn't evacuate due to a sick family member. After the strike, we took them some food and toys and promised to help however we could.
I am raising money to help with (now two) funeral costs, medical bills for family members injured, and anything left will go to help rebuild their lives.
Pictured is their daughter, Ludmilla. You can see this is not a wealthy family by any means. She only survived the missile strike because she was in the kitchen getting water.
You can donate to the family here:

If you want to put your money where your mouth is, a friend of mine is soon taking generators to Ukraine soon as part of a convoy.
Does anyone in the UK have a generator (any size) they would like to donate?
DM if so.

🟣 These death threats are no joke against #Moroccan feminist activists who speak out for basic equality and for the emancipation of women.
"Betty, you will die painfully, I promise you." Directed to Ibtissam Betty Lachgar, co-founder of the Alternative Movement for Individual Liberties (MALI).
AND "The execution will be painful and totally unexpected for you", or "Tell your colleagues that they will kill you in your office in Rabat like Charlie Hebdo in 2015".
This is what they face for speaking out and serious threats to harm their families. All of my support to these women.

“Clausewitz curses chaos and the fog of war as barriers to victory; Sun Tzu creates chaos and weaponizes it for victory.”
This all too common view is wrong on both points. While many see the flaw in his understanding of Clausewitz, fewer notice the flaw in this Sun Tzu analysis.
