Door to door sales cat was dressed smartly. Loses point for poor finance options and insistence on paying in fish 9/10 @thecatreviewer

Latest publication: Hammers and Nails: Military Innovation as a Strategic Dead End In this article I argue that innovation has become an end-in-itself, supplanting the much harder challenge of defining a meaningful, justifiable and achievable strategy Many thanks to the folks at @milstrategymag for publishing my work. militarystrategymagazine.com…

Now all we need to do is get the game moved to Stoke and hope it’s a wet, windy night. Then we’ll see if he can do it.
🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Leo Messi: “Facing England will be special! It’s my first time playing against England. I’ve played against just about everyone except them”. “They are a great team, a football powerhouse, it’s always exciting to face opponents like that”.

If my timeline could refrain from showing an AI photo of Nigel Farage decking someone on Question Time every 4-6 posts, I’d really appreciate it.

I am so emotional over this. I’ve been going to Villa all my life, I was a boy when we last won a major trophy. I watched us go down, watched us lose a play off final, I’ve seen the club on the brink of bankruptcy only to rebuild, overcome and conquer. Thank you #avfc!

Villa nail five wins in a row meaning we can all get our hair cut…
FT: Spurs 1-2 #AVFC Villa register a 5th straight win across all comps, with this the biggest. Showed they still retain that edge/grit to find a way to win tough. Increasingly the more coherent in possession and better structured overall, winning the game with a brilliant goal.

“I had read Hemingway and Remarque for years. I thought they knew everything about war. But they didn’t know mine.” “When I came back from the front and saw my bookshelf, I felt like a fool,” wrote 25y old Ukrainian soldier and author Artur Dron in UP. 1/

Really sorry to those of you who signed up to this. It seems the tech gremlins beat us this time and we couldn’t get the attendees into the meeting. (That or were very unpopular!) Stay tuned for a rescheduled event coming soon!

Interesting on the worrying ‘confidence’ of AI. There seems to be a kind of built in ‘wisdom of masses’ assumption that the more times something is repeated in the ‘data set’ the truer it is, which of course, isn’t how history works.
How AI can be confidently wrong.... Question: “What was the deadliest day in French military history?” AI Answer: 22nd August 1914. Sounds plausible right…? but what happens when you question it, knowing its wrong? 🧵on how AI tried to convince me I was wrong...1/9

Ukraine Update 🇺🇦 @jaglancy and I delivered humanitarian aid to the front-line areas in the southeast of Ukraine. One family we met was hit by a missile strike the very next day. Their son was killed, and their father died in the hospital yesterday. These are poor people who had very little to begin with. They couldn't evacuate due to a sick family member. After the strike, we took them some food and toys and promised to help however we could. I am raising money to help with (now two) funeral costs, medical bills for family members injured, and anything left will go to help rebuild their lives. Pictured is their daughter, Ludmilla. You can see this is not a wealthy family by any means. She only survived the missile strike because she was in the kitchen getting water. You can donate to the family here: gofundme.com/f/litvin-inna

If you want to put your money where your mouth is, a friend of mine is soon taking generators to Ukraine soon as part of a convoy. Does anyone in the UK have a generator (any size) they would like to donate? DM if so.
