Big news for Canadian tax filing enthusiasts! I spent ~18 months working on an automatic simple-tax filing prototype with my team at @CDS_GC. We found that tax filers often lack confidence to file on their own and many would prefer a government alternative. Awesome to see it!
Canada’s new government is focused on bringing your costs down.    Today, we’re announcing the launch of Automatic Federal Benefits for up to 5.5 million low-income Canadians, we’re making our National School Food Program permanent, and we’re bringing back the Canada Strong Pass for the holiday season and next summer.

"It is not clear yet whether it will be Carney or Pierre Poilievre who will lead Canada in the longer term. But one thing is for certain: whoever the prime minister is, their approach to multilevel governance and their relationships with the premiers will matter significantly."
