Today, on Jason Fossum Day, we laid to rest southern Minnesota’s own Jason Fossum. Jason grew up in the First District with a long, distinguished history of public service and a 29-year career in Minnesota politics. His dedication to the betterment of our state and kindness to others will not be forgotten. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

My mom, Patsy, decided today was her day to rise too. She passed peacefully this morning. I can see her right now smiling in the embrace of her love and my father, Tom, and my sister, Bridget. Food stamp fraud, waste, and abuse has been steadily on the rise, endangering the program for those who truly need it.
Sharing data with federal partners to root out fraud is a common sense solution. Unfortunately, @GovTimWalz continues to turn a blind eye.

Gov. Walz and his administration failed to run the required security checks on the system that determines SNAP eligibility, leaving the door open for fraud and security breaches. On top of that, they refused to give the USDA requested enrollment information to protect program integrity.
It’s unacceptable that Minnesotans are paying the price for this failed leadership time and time again.
