Check out team MOFganic's newest entry, out now in @J_A_C_S! Superstar PhD student Yihuan showed that MOFs allow for dosage delivery of simple fluorinated gases, enabling switchable control over borylated vs iodinated product formation in electroreductive radical reactions.
Congrats also to post-doc Jiachen, who pioneered the use of Al-fum for fluorinated gas delivery, undergraduate student Oliver, and our long-time collaborator @jhlee_david (and post-doc Johari in his lab)!
Check out the paper here:

The formation of a less reactive Cl radical species is supported by TD-DFT studies conducted by Akash @KulikGroup and by the observation of a large primary KIE, which is not commonly observed for Cl radical.
Congrats to all of the co-authors, including 2nd year Katrina, undergrad Sky, and 3rd year Danny, who helped with the scope and other experiments, and group alumnus Tyler who initiated this project building upon his work with Co(III)-Cl MOFs (pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jac…)!
