1/5 Attention Sui devs! π οΈ
As the ecosystem shifts away from JSON-RPC, finding fast and reliable data endpoints is critical for your dApps.
Today, Ruby Nodes is launching SuiScope: a neutral benchmarking tool for gRPC, GraphQL, and Archival endpoints. π

1/ Canton's defining feature is that transaction data is only visible to the parties involved.
Great for institutions. Brutal if you're trying to build ecosystem-wide analytics.

I have been building in this space through several cycles
when markets turn down, you see very quickly which teams were selling a vision and which teams were actually building toward one
so far in 2026, we have delivered gasless stablecoin transfers, sui dollar and deepbook margin on mainnet
we have put confidential transfers into public beta, launched deepbook predict and hashi on testnet
and pushed programmable transactions beyond 6 million TPS in a public experiment
and we are nowhere near done
before the year is over, deepBook predict and confidential transfers will be live on mainnet
and sui will support quantum-secure addresses and programmable quantum vaults
plus, there is much more coming around payments, security and AI this year that we cannot share yet
all I can tell you right now is that we are not slowing down
if anything, we are moving faster
Sui will support both Quantum Secure Addresses and Programmable Quantum Vaults in 2026.
2 complementary standards & algorithms.
2 different purposes.
1 native. 1 smart-contract based.
We can't afford to wait. A dedicated working group votes on Monday to finalise the cryptographic protocols.
This decision wasn't made overnight.
Over the past 2 years we've worked with leading cryptographers, top universities, regulators, custodians, exchanges, wallet vendors, HSM manufacturers, and infrastructure teams. The landscape has changed dramatically:
- We (@Mysten_Labs) introduced the first backwards-compatible post-quantum migration for elliptic-curve accounts. A problem that was considered unsolvable.
- Google accelerated the conversation around practical quantum computing, their announcement changed the perception everywhere.
- The community uncovered multiple implementation pitfalls in PQ libraries.
- Hybrid vs native PQ became a serious engineering and cryptography debate.
- Remora Proxies, the new Sui-funded innovation made large PQ signatures far less of a scalability concern.
- Sui introduced address aliases, allowing seamless migration without abandoning existing identities.
- NIST officially published the FIPS quantum standards, after a few finalists algorithms were broken this decade.
- glaldly, more chains and Web2 infra started planning their transition.
- Quantum-safe ZK systems reached a level where they are becoming practical.
Next week I'll personally share the final decisions, timelines, and more importantly the reasoning behind every choice.
This isn't just about protecting Sui. Cryptography cannot afford to wait. The entire industry needs to migrate sooner rather than later. One of the best ways to defeat well-funded malicious actors, including emerging nation-state adversaries, is to suffocate their target set. If valuable systems stop presenting vulnerable cryptographic targets, many attacks simply stop being worth attempting, this might even delay quantum computing for attacks, and just focus on the real needs, improving artificial intelligence.
The goal is not to react after quantum computers arrive, but to remove the incentive long before they do.
For those asking about our evaluation process, this forked and evolved benchmark is one of the inputs we use when selecting post-quantum authenticators (SPOILER: we've already pushed verification performance beyond what's shown here).

As validators on many blockchains, I really believe Remora could be the solution to blockchain scaling. We have seen quite a lot of great ideas floating around for years but validator horizontal scaling seems like the way to go!
π Remora π¦ π πππ has been accepted to VLDB 2026 (Very Large Data Bases), one of the world's premier conferences for databases, distributed systems, and large-scale data infrastructure.
It all started with a simple question:
What if a blockchain validator wasn't a single server, but an entire cluster?
That idea became Pilotfish, our first exploration of deterministic scale-out execution. The challenge wasn't simply parallelism, it was preserving determinism: every validator, regardless of how many machines it uses, must compute exactly the same result.
Once that became possible, another realization emerged: many of the most expensive parts of transaction execution are stateless. Signature verification (including post-quantum cryptography), ZK proof verification, hashing, parsing, bytecode validation, and increasingly AI inference and AI-powered smart contracts, consume enormous compute without immediately depending on blockchain state.
Consensus got fast. Execution didn't, until now.
As crypto workloads become increasingly compute-intensive, even perfect parallelism on a single machine eventually hits a ceiling. The future isn't just bigger servers, it's smarter clusters.
Remora is the next step. It introduces distributed execution with a novel separation of stateless and stateful computation, workload-aware scheduling, deep pipelining, and elastic scaling. Added compute resources translate directly into higher throughput while maintaining low latency, deterministic execution, and robust failure recovery.
Built on state-of-the-art distributed systems research and blockchain-specific insights, Remora enables validators to scale with the growing demands of modern cryptography, zero-knowledge systems, post-quantum security, and AI.
To sum up:
Pilotfish proved that validators can become clusters.
Remora shows how those clusters can behave like one incredibly powerful computer.
Huge congratulations to all of the great authors from @imperialcollege, @ucl, @Mysten_Labs & @SuiNetwork behind this work!
