Canton Weekly Update | September 14-20 1) Kyobo Life and SBI Digital Practice completed a Canton pilot that swapped yen and won test tokens directly, without going through US dollars. 2) A new proposal would make @Paxos a Canton Super Validator and bring its stablecoin and treasury services to the network. Approval is still pending. 3) Marex was also proposed as a Canton Super Validator, with plans to use the network for institutional trading, settling trades and moving collateral. 4) @KaikoData's Series B funding reached $110M after an investment led by S&P Global, with the Canton Foundation among the investors. 5) @temple_ny launched Virtual Orderbooks, letting selected institutions run their own private trading venues on Canton using Temple's trading system. 6) @WeAreTokenovate tested same day borrowing against securities, with payments settled in USDC backed tokens on Canton. It also joined the Canton Foundation. 7) @Kiln_finance launched a setup that keeps Canton transactions running if one validator goes offline. Kiln says customers including Ledger are already using it. 8) @redstone_defi received funding approval to build tools that let Canton apps use price data without exposing private trading activity. 9) @Kora_Protocol added a way to deposit USDC from Ethereum. $CC, tokenized gold and tokenized silver can now be traded against USDCx. 10) @edeldotfinance joined DTC's digital assets working group to give feedback on DTCC's planned tokenization service. 11) @ZenithFdn also joined DTC's digital assets working group. 12) @ekidenfi reported over $1M in trading volume across 15,978 trades during its invite only launch. Users still review and approve each trade in their wallet. 14) @intercepta_ now supports Canton transaction monitoring and sanctions checks. Access to private activity still requires permission. 15) @Cashen_cc joined the Canton Foundation's collateral group, chaired by DTCC. It will work on making collateral easier to move between apps. 16) @CantonNetwork's Tokenomics Committee approved an interim change to app rewards, removing a cap that reduced rewards when apps settled transactions together. 17) The Canton Summit took place this week, bringing together financial institutions and teams building apps on @CantonNetwork.
