There is great hope in knowing God is not calling us to bigger, better or extraordinary.  He wants to take the small, hidden, little & seemingly unimportant things in our lives & inject them with eternal glory.  We can rest in our commonness, our ordinariness, and our smallness.

Sam Altman warned us: “Everyone thinks you can hire someone to do this." "That fails 100% of the time." A board of directors won't cut it. The secret to building a generational company, according to him? The founder doing this every day:

How awful can the condition of the world become? There really is no earthly hope for the folly and mendacity of the human race. As Advent approaches this is the time to speak rigorously about the hope that is beyond earthly hope. And that is no task for the faint-hearted.

If you're gonna listen to any speech about #Ukraine 🇺🇦, let it be this one. The Kenya ambassador to the UNSC perfectly explains how people across Africa understand Ukraine, and what the Kremlin's acts of aggression mean in our post-colonial world.

We have had several (approximately ten) deaths in our church over the last four or so weeks. As part of the process, I’ve been teaching one of our younger pastors the ministry of death. If that’s of interest to you, read on. If not, feel free to scroll on by:

An @OMF_Int missionary recounts how God has used his life experience as a Black man to connect with many in Thailand. He shares that the Black church has a deep well of stories and theology to contribute to global missions. Read more here: buff.ly/2QzS8K8

When we read psalms that don't reflect our personal current reality (psalms of lament, anger, etc), don't skip them. Those are words of many around the world & become opportunities to intercede. The Bible isn't a personal letter addressed to me. It's communal in its essence.

Hello, I’m a minister in a TV drama. At any given moment you’ll find me in an empty church moving around hymnbooks. (On a sunny day I might even venture into the graveyard.) I’ll also display an astonishing lack of knowledge of anything biblical, theological, or ecclesiastical.

Honoured to speak with @VP @KamalaHarris today. I thanked her & President @JoeBiden for their commitment to @WHO & global health. I am also grateful to the new administration for advancing women's health & #ClimateAction. We look forward to continuing the 🇺🇸 & WHO partnership.

THREAD: The Exploitation of Power in the Biblical Narrative. SUB-TITLE: Sex, Lies, & Intertextuality,… …subjects I’ve recently (and sadly) been reminded of. Below is an anonymised version of a Bible story. Please have a read of it. I suspect it’ll soon ring a bell.
