Just listened to this episode produced by @GPTSeminary on the topic of Family Worship. This was so good. This is absolutely something that makes our family & I recommend you do it. I’ll be posting resources we’ve found helpful.

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (ESV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given Me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life…
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
— John 1:12-13
Psalm 51:17 (ESV)
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Therefore God has highly exalted Him & bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven & on earth & under the earth & every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil. 2:9-11

Self-defense is a natural right. The Luby's massacre could have been stopped had Texas recognized that by allowing people to carry firearms. In 1991, they didn't. BTW, the Bend school shooting was stopped by a civilian who pursued the 16-year old shooter into the school and stopped him.
The Luby's massacre caused Texas to change state law.

A faithful martyr hasn’t failed. Worldly success is really a poor measure of Christian victory:

What if John Calvin himself had helped write a Reformed confession of faith?
He did.
If you call yourself a Calvinist, his view on baptism may surprise you.

but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
— Isaiah 40:31
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might He increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
— Isaiah 40:29-30
Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
His understanding is unsearchable.
— Isaiah 40:28

The pastor, in an age where attention spans are short, must cultivate the discipline of sustained study.
One of the great dangers of AI is that we may become better at producing content while losing the discipline of sustained study.

The law breaks the hard heart, but the gospel melts it. A stone duly broken may be still a hard stone; but the gospel melts.
