ALT Snapshot of the text description of the Working Group: In this WG we aim to explore how changes in the availability of water (e.g. scarcity, floods) challenge the existing narratives and identities of communities and inhabitants. We will discuss how rural communities are dealing with those changes and challenges, how identities are shaped by water, and how(reframed) narratives enable or hinder adaption. The WG seeks to exchange on current research, interests, and results around the construction of place-based identities around the availability of water, and to develop a joint discussion paper that characterises the climate-change driven changes in water narratives in European rural communities. In this WG we aim to explore the existing and future relationships between rural communities and water in the light of climate induced crises, how identities are shaped by water, and how adaptation and change are being developed in narratives of living with water.
