We are updating the Dangerous Dogs legislation.
This will require that children under the age of 12 are not left unsupervised near a prohibited dog in a private or domestic setting.
It will apply to all types of prohibited dogs and come into force on 1 November 2026.

We are supporting families with the cost of living. To support families impacted by the cost-of-living crisis we are helping write off School Meal debt.
This includes making up to £2.8 million available to local authorities, and expanding Free School Meals in primary school.
