Spring has finally arrived in our #warming experiment 🌍🌞🌱🌸🦠

One concern is that as the Arctic gets warmer there will be a shift where less carbon is stored in the ground and more is released into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide - the gas that contributes the most to the greenhouse effect @RouskLab @lunduniversity

It's been a sentimental week as I wrap up my last day at LU. I feel incredibly lucky to do my PhD here 👩🎓-it has truly been an extraordinary journey! Now, it's time to wind down a bit and be ready for the next chapter! 📚

One gram of soil can contain thousands of species of bacteria and fungi. Climate change impacts them – but the microbes themselves can also reenforce or reduce #climatechange. Johannes Rousk wants to study this in depth #KAW100 #science @RouskLab

Suuuuuper happy to reunite with @Haifeng_Zheng at @MicroBioGeo_LU @RouskLab! 🤓🤓He will conduct an experiment to determine whether the limiting factor for soil microbial growth changes when ecosystems are fumigated by OZONE! 🌾

It was time to tend to our warming experiment in Lund by mowing all the grass and shrubs. Thanks to everyone for helping !

Growth rate reflects an organism's fitness and resource use, offering a link between the ecology and evolution of microorganisms and their roles in ecosystem services, such as carbon and nutrient cycling. Link: nature.com/articles/s41559-0… (2/6)

Last summer, I sampled 44 soils from Alaska and Abisko, want to be the fourth person in the world (the first three are myself, @RouskLab and @LetticeHicks 😜) to know what I dug up? Join my talk at #ESA2024! I'll share the serendipity of my PhD journey!!!🌱🔍
