This guy single handedly burned a $ billion on a failed company when it could have gone elsewhere. VCs still haven’t learnt.
This is a very dated view of the VCs in India and very rage baitish. I think the ecosystem has become so much better. Companies like Astrobase, Airbound and Sarvam AI are able to raise well and fast. Also there have been spectacular outcomes in the last many years with companies like Groww, Eternal and Meesho.
Fintech and Commerce will always be big themes. Size of opportunity here is huge.
This thread and its comments are something I don’t hear any finance or tech bros speak like ever in India- a very casual way to say complex things that few understand

Sexy price. Wow. 16.99 lakh for the Renault Duster Hybrid.
They have hit it out of the park. I'm very happy. :-)
Renault is BACK!

Tesla finally showed the next-gen Roadster: up a vertical ramp, flip, thruster-assisted landing. Claimed 0-60 mph in 0.81s using SpaceX cold-gas thrusters, 2G fan suction for driving inverted, 230+ mph target. Production promised for 2028. The bigger question is road legality.
Replying to @airindia
@airindia @AirIndiaX horrible experience at bengaluru airport checkin counter on Oct 14 for BLR-DXB flight AI9139. My wife and infant were not getting boarding pass despite reaching 2 hours early to checkin due to some error at your backend. We had booked tickets thru call center
especially when there was a mother travelling alone with her infant. How could you let them struggle there? why was no senior person asked to help? we had to figure it out ourselves and only get boarding at last minute. @airsewa_MoCA this was total harassment by AI staff.
AI bros- let’s start banging monkeys to get AIDs cos we’ll have the cure soon enough
Palantir CTO reveals AI researchers are taking up smoking to signal to other researchers that they believe AI will cure cancer--and calls it a “mass psychosis”
Shyam Sankar (CTO): “But if you understand that it’s actually a theological critique, then you can kind of weigh it against the empirical facts of what is actually happening out there.
“I think there’s a profound truth to Pascal’s saying that every human has a God-shaped hole in their heart. And it’s important to understand that many of these folks in Silicon Valley who are building this technology have filled that hole with the machine god of AGI.
“And I mean, there’s so many interesting stories around this. For example, so many AI researchers have started smoking as a way of signaling to other researchers how much they believe in AI.”
Margaret Brennan: “What? That makes no sense. What do you think?”
Shyam Sankar: “I believe so much in AI that it’s going to cure cancer. So I’m showing you my chips are all in. So there is kind of this mass psychosis, social delusion around it.”
Love this new trend of young driven folks care about their surroundings and take action but hate thinking how the govt must be laughing at this short term effort by yet another tourist
