I'm honoured to be named in the 'ones to watch' list of @FutureTodayInst's Annual Tech Trends Report alongside such inspiring people. buff.ly/2NwQyHm I co-lead @BBC_News_Labs with @ManjiriKC who's also incredible. Seems a good time to share some work we're excited about🧵
Participation: We've been prototyping ways to bring audiences and reporters closer together during live events and elections, so that audiences can have their voices heard and participate directly in the coverage. Sharing more on this soon.
This is a really important and impressive piece of work. The team did an incredible job and will hopefully lay the foundations for some really groundbreaking research.

Huge congratulations to everyone who worked on the GoURMET project. They really deserve this recognition of the work.
BBC News Labs' work has been "highly commended" in @Computing_News' Technology Products of the Year 2022 awards.
Our entry for "Innovator of the Year" was an ambitious endeavour to develop machine translation models for low-resource languages.

It's out! It has been a joy working with @AdaLovelaceInst on this. As BBC creates more complex technologies, maintaining the high trust of our users have is our top priority. Our involvement with this report reflects our commitment to transparency, and public service technology.
📢From what to read, to what we should watch or listen to next, recommendations are an inescapable feature of digital content.
Our new report explores the use of recommendation systems in public service media across Europe and the UK.
