The last public execution in the United States was the hanging of Rainey Bethea for the rape and murder of a 70-year-old woman Kentucky.
The date of the execution was August 14, 1936.
This would be the first public execution in the US in over 90 years.

#BREAKING: The Missouri Supreme Court ruled the state constitution permits a referendum on a congressional redistricting map passed by the legislature.
The 2022 congressional map governs the November 2026 election. HB 1 takes effect only if voters approve it.
