Good news for Punawale residents as work has officially started on a large 22-hectare oxygen park, replacing the waste processing plant that was earlier planned in the same area. After strong opposition from local citizens, the civic authorities cancelled the garbage plant project and approved the green park instead. The new oxygen park will have trees, walking trails and open green spaces, which will help improve air quality and give people a healthy place to relax. Residents had raised concerns about pollution and health risks from the waste plant, and their protest finally brought a positive change. Do you think more such green projects are needed across Pune?
