Taking the crumbs politicians pretend to throw us is why this country is in such a pitiful state now. We've had a hundred years of progressives turning the gear and conservatives acting as the pawl. Whichever one you reinforce, you're helping the system.

The idea that this is caused by companies all getting greedier in tandem is whimsical thinking at best and apologism for thieving tyrants at worst.
