Love Chris.
Always have.
He was hosting the breakfast show on the old Virgin Radio 27 years ago, when I was fired from Blue Peter.
I’d never met him at that point and he defended me for a week.
I reminded him today of a quote of his from that show, which became a Sun from page.
“Half the BBC are on drugs” 😂
He didn’t mean it
But it was funny.
Listening to a broadcaster, who’s your hero, who you’ve never met, defend you all week long, for nearly the entirety of every show, helped me get through it.
It turned it from something a bit frightening as a 22-year-old - to something comic and absurd.
He’s got the same energy he’s always had.
(We were talking about my new podcast.

There's a New Thing. It's called Track Record. Free. No adverts. No click bait. No negativity. No rancour. Just good writing about sport, music and culture. I've written a big chunk about the abiding brilliance of the Wu-Tang Clan. Please give it a go.

Kevin Rowland literally saved my life once. I have been in awe of his talent over decades,
35 years later we met again and he tweeted this.
Unbelievable.
God bless, old war horse.
I love the original album, love the story of how it was put together and the new insights gleaned from this box-set and loved speaking to Cally and Richard for this. Thank you everyone!

How brilliant a breakfast host has @PetrocTrelawny been on @BBCRadio3? Outstanding broadcaster with great musical taste. Cannot believe it is his last day. The mornings will not be the same. Best of luck to him with his move. And he gets a lie in.
